Bride's emergency Kit
The following list is a general guideline of items to include in the "Bride's Emergency Kit." The actual kit can take many forms: overnight bag, carrier bag, basket, or a really big purse. In general, the kit is left in the bride's dressing/changing room for easy access at the wedding location and is assigned to a mother, bridesmaid, or guest to bring on to the reception.
- Health
- antacid
- antihistamine, cold remedy
- any prescription medications
- aspirin, Tylenol, or Advil
- bandaids
- cough-drops
- tampons & pads
- suntan lotion (if significant activities will be outdoors)
- Beauty/Grooming
- dusting powder for before pictures are taken
- hair spray, brush, barrettes and/or bobby pins
- hand lotion, handi-wipes
- kleenex
- makeup
- perfume
- Nail polish in shade worn, & remover
- small hand towel
- toothbrush and toothpaste
- Attire
- 'throwaway' garter
- clear nail polish (for runs in hose)
- earring backs
- emergency buttons
- flat shoes (if necessary)
- iron
- tights/pantyhose (extras in case anything happened)
- safety pins
- masking tape (last-minute ripped hems)
- small sewing kit, including thread for all dresses, wedding party
- Miscellaneous
- directions to reception - extra copies
- phone numbers of all service folks
- small flashlight
- spare change for phone or cell phone
- something to drink, like a bottle of water (particularly useful for lengthy photo sessions)
